Testing The Market

Work has been kicking my booty but tonight I did a little legwork to test my market. I went out and dug around for forums that cater to the niche I'm looking at and what I did was simple, I asked them a question "Would this product help you?". I started a thread that says I'm taking a poll. In the thread I described how I was thinking of creating an info product that would help them with what I believe is a problem for them. Then I simply asked is this something that would help you. I'll let you know if I get any feed back. I don't have a clue if anyone will respond but my guess is that they will because people like to take polls.

Hey Norm,
What kind of poll did you use? Was it the one Eben gave us? I am going to do the same thing, but Megan knows this, I have been having issues with it. If you could let me know, that would be great! I am thinking of offering the ebook in exchange for the poll, and use it as a thank you for leaving an email.
I have my e-book pretty much done, did some tweaking on my blog, started an ezine, and am going to create a group at myspace in my niche today.
Yes, ditto to Megan for her comment to Norm. You notice, Norm, when the cats away, the mice will play! I have a Yahoo Group for Health Coach Professionals. When I am busy, the momentum dies down. If I just post for a quick minute, then it picks back up, I gain new members, etc.,etc., etc. :-) Judy

Great Idea! Norm :-) - I'm very interested in how this works for you and what kind of feedback you get - what you learn from this approach etc. Work has been kicking my booty too - am trying to get one (big) particular obligation "done" (except for the inevitable round of tweaks and fixes) this week so I can start real work on my own projects and then post what I am doing - Seeing you start posting on your blog now makes me even more impatient and eager to focus my energies on my own stuff Thanks, Megan
